Veronica Classen was born and raised in Ottawa but calls Montreal her home.  She obtained her BFA at Concordia University in Theatre Design in 2005.  She went on to pursue her Masters Degree in Costume and Set Design at Northwestern University in Chicago, which she completed in June of 2008. While at Northwestern University she taught undergraduate courses in Costume Design.

She is largely influenced by natural and manufactured landscapes and how the individual exists within that tension. This manifests in designs that challenge the actors and audience both spatially and emotionally.  She often uses subtle shifts in height, width, texture, and colour to engage our imagination.  Ultimately, she strives to heighten the storytelling through design.

Although her focus is on design, Veronica hopes to continue teaching.   She occasionally exhibits her paintings and drawings as a member of the Pontiac Artist's Association. She is currently interested in design opportunities in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
